Putah Creek Winery Celebrates the Opening of its Tasting Room in Downtown Davis
DAVIS, CA—Putah Creek Winery welcomed more than 180 attendees at its Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony held on May 3rd. Local business leaders, community members, and Wine Club members celebrated the new location. Congressman Garamendi District Director Mrs. Fairclough, Yolo County Supervisor Saylor, and Mayor Krovoza made remarks to welcome Putah Creek Winery to the downtown area.
Congressman Garamendi District Director Elly Fairclough commenced her speech acknowledging Garba Wine Company’s achievement in the local community. “As young entrepreneurs and immigrants, we are proud to contribute to both the Solano and the Yolo economies,” said Jessica Chin Foo, Managing Partner. “The tasting room opening is our first major accomplishment. Our cozy space will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Our wine flights include 4 San Francisco Wine Competition silver medal winners […]. The tasting room will also feature learn and play workshops for local wine lovers.”
Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor awarded Putah Creek Winery Tasting Room a certificate in recognition of its grand opening in downtown Davis, being the first wine brand in Davis and its commitment to producing local wine from local grapes using environmentally friendly farming techniques.
City of Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza congratulated the Youmans family on their Business of the Year award for The Hallmark Inn (where the tasting room is located) and recognized the winery for being the keeper of the Putah Creek name which has such history and legacy in our area. The event was sponsored by Hallmark Inn, Seasons Restaurant, Thai Recipes, and Passione Pizza and featured local bands.
