Putah Creek Winery Celebrates the One Year Anniversary of its Downtown Tasting Room
DAVIS, CA—Putah Creek Winery, a Davis based winery, is celebrating the one year anniversary of it's Downtown Davis tasting room next month. Using only the finest estate grapes, predominantly coming from its South Davis vineyards, Putah Creek Winery has delivered a new dimension to a city that loves great wine. Since its opening, the winery has won numerous awards including four silver medals in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and the Davis Enterprise Reader’s Choice award for Best New Business.
The tasting room contributes to the city’s vibrant agro-tourism and has welcomed over 1,000 visitors in 2014. Since its beginning, Putah Creek Winery has proudly donated wines to charitable groups and events that enhance the vitality of the community. With its new space, the tasting room has been able to give back more to the local community. The winery has recently renewed its commitment of giving by launching Give Back Tuesday which donates 15% of their total retail sales made on Tuesdays to selected non-profits.
This month Putah Creek Winery is supporting the Yolo Crisis Nursery on Tuesdays. Upcoming recipients will be: Davis Schools Foundation in May, Putah Creek Council in June, Yolo Hospice in July, Yolo Farm to Fork in August, Freedom from Hunger in September, Project Pink in October and Empower Yolo in November.
On May 8th, Putah Creek Winery will celebrate its one year anniversary with their loyal wine club members, vendors, local business community leaders, French and Italian community members, wine and grape farming industry representatives, and the Davis community.
The event begins at 5pm with remarks from Ruy Laredo, Field Representative for Assemblymember Bill Dodd; Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor; Mr. Matt Yancey, Davis Chamber of Commerce CEO; and Mr. Diego Barison, managing partner of Putah Creek Winery. As a token of Putah Creek Winery’s appreciation, guests will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine. The celebration will continue with live acoustic music from Ben & Brian and the 2nd Friday Art About reception of photographer Alan Kuper.
